Erin + Michael’s Plantation Engagement

Welcome to Erin + Michael's Engagement session!

Its still pretty surreal to me that this is my JOB. I dreamed about days like this. Erin & Michael are truly such a blast to work with. They decided they wanted to meet at a family friend's property for their pictures, and oh what a dream it was. SO SO beautiful. Photos don't even do it justice. I love watching God play out in our lives every day, by giving us little drops of things that make us happy during our day to day lives. While I was waiting for them to arrive, the lady that owned the property came out and was talking to me, most of all we talked about her beautiful land. Anyone that knows me knows I LOVE old things. Old buildings. Old train tracks. Old books. Old anything that someone can tell me a story behind, I turn into a geek! Long story short she had a few old houses on her property that belonged to an old farmhouse that was there back in 1909, and she so graciously just gave me a tour. To say I was on cloud 9 is an understatement. I got to see old arrow heads they found on their property, photos of what it looked like before they did some remodeling to preserve this house, and an old doctor's book from the long owner that was there before. Like this book was falling apart old. It was perfection, and I remember thinking to myself in that short time I spent with this lady before Erin & Michael arrived, I get to do this. I get to meet amazing people, and experience things I never would have before. She may not think that what she showed me and allowed me to experience was that impactful, but it was that and so much more. Just a reassurance that I am in God’s hands, doing his work, and in return he gives me tiny nuggets of showing me he has a plan for it all by giving me things outside of photography that light up my soul, like the amazing old houses.

Everything was perfection that evening on. Erin & Michael just radiate pure joy when they look at each other and that makes my job even more dreamy. There were so many laughs and a perfect sunset, what more could we ask for?
