Erin + Michael’s Rainy Day Church Wedding
Welcome to Erin & Michael’s Wedding Day!
For their wedding to be on the last day of the year in 2022, it was so sweet for me to look back on the past year, and see that THIS is where God intended on me being this whole time, and everything in my life has prepared, and led me to wedding photography, and this day truly reminded me of just how much I love what I do.
I knew from the beginning, way back when I shot Erin & Michael's engagement session, that when their wedding day came it was going to be nothing less than beautiful, and full of so many smiles. These two together just radiate PURE JOY when they look at each other, and I'm so honored I got to be there to witness & capture such a beautiful wedding day. That truly was my biggest challenge, is taking these two, and capturing the immense level of love and giddiness they have for one another and portray that in images that speak just that, because that is something to hold close forever, so making sure they look back on their day years down the road and see nothing but that, is so special to me and something I strived for! For their wedding day to be on December 31st, it was a HOT, STICKY & rainy day! But in North Carolina we don't expect anything less and are prepared for anything, and we made the absolute best out of it!
This was such a low key wedding, and I loved every minute of it. About 60 of their closest friends and family came to watch them and celebrate with them! Erin had the sweetest first looks I have probably ever seen with her son, dad, and future husband. Because of the rain, we were confined to a porch off the front of the church for pretty much everything I could squeeze out of natural light, and truthfully, I am very proud of myself for the variety of images I was able to get from this one location, to give them the most in their final gallery!
After their ceremony they spent the rest of the evening celebrating, laughing, hugging, and enjoying the evening with all the ones they love most at their reception. VERY laid back. No first dances. No toasts. No exit. Just being one with everyone and enjoying all the day had become. You could just feel in the room it was right, and all the happiness everyone had for them.
As beautiful as the portraits are from this wedding day, nothing compares to the beauty in the hearts of Erin & Michael. They are truly Godsent, and a pure joy to work with.
It was an absolute honor to capture their day and meet both sides of sweet family members. That will always go down as one of my favorite things about wedding days, I get to meet people I never would have before, and they are ALWAYS better than I could imagine. I still, and will always, thank God every day that this is my job, and he continues to bring people into my life, and vice versa that he needs me to be there for, and that the Jesus in me is something that always shines the brightest on wedding days when it can get hard, tiring, sometimes confusing, rushed, behind, and even stressful sometimes for my couples, because that's the reality of a wedding day most times. And I pray I can always be a place of peace for when those moments come up.
With that, enjoy some of my many many favorites from their day!
