Marisa + Zack’s Downtown Wilmington Wedding

If I’m being honest, from the moment Marisa booked me for her wedding day….I have looked forward to this day ever since! She might look very familiar if you have followed the blog for some time now, because she has been a bridesmaid in at least 3 of my past weddings! It was SO fun to finally photograph her on the other side of my camera as a BRIDE! :)

I had such a bittersweet feeling about this day before me + Kat ever showed up to photograph it that morning, that’s how excited I was! I knew that as soon as we showed up the day was going to FLY by and be over before we knew it….and that’s exactly what happened! I can’t even begin to explain how sweet it is to show up on a wedding day, and know most of the bridesmaids because they have been Sam Wynn Brides before…and be so excited that it was finally Marisa’s turn to get married in her friend group! There is just a certain level of stress taken off of a wedding day for me because they already know me, and it really is just like spending the day with some of my favorite friends!

From the very first moment I met Marisa, which was as a bridesmaid last year, I KNEW that when her wedding day rolled around one day she was going to be the most PERFECT blend of all the things brides are on a wedding day. She had a vision for exactly what she wanted her day to look like, and seeing it all come together was so fun.

One thing I love about my job, is being able to be a calm and reassurance to my brides that there is no such thing as a “normal” wedding day. Even when things get behind and the stress of the day starts to become real, being able to help them find peace in the fact that every wedding day is going to be different, but it will always happen exactly how its meant to be.

Once Marisa was in her dress, she shared THE SWEETEST first look with her dad that I have probably ever seen. Actually, I know this was the best one I have had yet. You will see below :) There were so many tears…from everyone. It was that heartfelt. Even ME! haha. You could just feel the happiness he felt for her in that moment surround us in the room.

Marisa + Zack shared a private first look with each other, shielded from the cold December wind we had that day….and it was equally as emotional. Marisa even made a comment during their first look, she said “I really wish I was a cuter crier because it just keeps happening haha” And honestly that just kinda sums up how the whole day felt :)

If Marisa + Zack are going to do anything…they are always going to be themselves and UNIQUE! She decided to have puppies instead of bouquets, and I have to say that was a first for me! The puppies were surprisingly SO well behaved, and 100% a crowd pleaser for everyone!

It was so evident that these 2 were made for each other. The smile that Marisa had on her face the whole day just knowing she was about to be a WIFE to her favorite person was just the best. They do nothing but glow when they are with each other.

When you wrap up the perfect bridal party, the best wedding vendor team, couldn’t be better weather, the sweetest private last dance, and a bride and groom as fun as Marisa + Zack…you really get the perfect wedding day!

THANK YOU Marisa + Zack for choosing me and Kat to photograph your wedding day, we know you could have chosen anyone, and we are beyond honored that you chose us. My hope is that when you look through and re-live the images of their day you see how much love surrounded them on December 7th, 2024. There was such an abundance of it. Enjoy their day below!
