Morgan + Trae’s Old River Farms Wedding
November is starting to become my favorite month for weddings because the weather always seems to be perfect! This was a complete 360 from their engagement session when we all almost melted in downtown Wilmington! This was the most perfect day!
Spending time with Morgan + Trae at their engagement session I KNEW IMMEDIATELY they were a Sam Wynn Couple, partly because we survived the yearly heatwave in the south during their engagement session and they never complained once and was up for anything I asked…..but mainly because they TRUSTED me! Fast forward to their wedding day, it was nothing short of a breezy dream!
This was my second time photographing a wedding at Old River Farms, and when we all arrived there for Morgan to start getting in her dress the owner announced to us this was their last wedding they were ever having there, and they were closing it down! This was such a bittersweet wedding day for the sweet people that own this venue as they watched Morgan + Trae’s wedding day. It was such an honor to be able to photograph the last wedding they will have there.
The day started off with Morgan and her best girls getting ready at her house, beautiful details, and THE MOST PERFECT fall weather anyone could order! I don’t know if I have ever seen a most laid back group of bridesmaids in the morning….but then TORE UP the dance floor that night! Haha. It was a nice surprise!
As the morning went on we arrived to the venue for Morgan and her girls to get ready. Many tears were shed as Morgans mom was helping her get in her dress as they were missing a HUGE part of her day she never thought she would. Morgans nana was one of the most important people in her life, and not having her there was emotional for everyone, but we tried to honor her in the best way possible by incorporating her photo into many different moments. She always wanted her nana to be the one to walk her down the aisle…so I know she had to be one special lady that made the biggest impact on their lives.
Morgan + Trae shared a first touch and private vows outside the barn, which then led into the rest of the events that followed that day. You can tell these two were made for each other. Trae kept saying the whole day…”if it’s what Morgan wants let’s do it” What a GUY! We had the PERFECT sunset right after the ceremony to do their portraits so we soaked in every minute that we could of it before it disappeared.
Morgan and her mom shared a choreographed first dance together and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room! I will share a small video below of it, GOSH it was so sweet!
As you scroll through some of my favorites from their day my hope is that you see how much love surrounded them on November 9th, 2024. I hope you see how much love Morgan and Trae have for each other, because all they could do was smile the whole day together.
THANK YOU Trae & Morgan for choosing me and kat to photograph your wedding day for you, we know you could have chosen anyone, and we will always be honored you chose us! Enjoy their day below!
